What We Believe

xxxxxx

Our Ben David Fellowship faith principles, as well as our decisions and actions, are based on the knowledge that the Bible is Yahweh’s inspired Word to mankind.  We recognize no other document as directly Yahweh breathed or equally inspired.  The Bible is truth and light and is infallible as handed down in its original documents.  There is one Holy Bible, indivisible and forever relevant and authoritative in all its parts consisting of the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is inherently a culturally Hebrew document, which reflects the reason for our commitment to a Hebrew Roots faith perspective.

Therefore among the Biblical faith principles that we shall practice, we find the following to be foundational and immutable:

God is One.  The Father, Son, Holy Spirit form one unified Godhead. (Ex. 3:14-15; Ps. 14:1; Deut. 6:4: Is. 44:6-8; 45:5; I Tim 2:5; I Cor. 8:4; Mt. 3:16,17; Mt. 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14; Rm. 1:7 Father; Heb 1:8 Son; Acts 5;3, 4 Holy Spirit)

Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) is the one and only Messiah.  He is both deity and man.  He was born of a virgin; he was crucified, but was raised from the dead, His sacrifice paying for the sins of all who trust in Him as Savior. (Ro. 1:3; Gal. 4:4; Jn. 1:14; Mt. 1:18; Lk 2:40, 52; Ez. 18:4; Rm. 7:14; Rm. 5:8; Rm. 10:8-10)

All humans are in need of personal salvation and there is but one way for this Salvation, and that is through Yahweh’s grace by accepting His Son, the Messiah Yeshua. (I Tim. 1:15; I Tim. 4:10; Rm. 3:23, Rm. 5:8; Rm. 10:13)

The Holy Spirit (Ruach Hakodesh) indwells Believers after one commits to Yeshua. (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38; Mt. 3:11; Lk. 11:13; Jn 14:15-17; Jn 14:26; Jn 15:26)

The Body of Messiah is commanded by Yahweh to stand with and beside Israel, and is spiritually connected to Israel, but has not replaced Israel as His Chosen People.  While Yahweh makes a physical distinction between Jews and gentiles, He makes no spiritual distinction as both need Messiah Yeshua for Redemption (Salvation). (Joel 2:27; Ex. 3:16; Lev. 18:2; Deut. 27:9; Rm. 11:17; Acts 11:1; Acts 13:48; Rm. 9:24; Rm. 15:9; Gal. 3:4)

Shabbat (Sabbath), the 7th day of the week, was ordained as a holy day by Yahweh at the end of Creation and was reaffirmed in the Law of Moses and later by Christ (Yeshua, Jesus).  Nowhere in the Bible has this been repealed or dismissed. Therefore we honor the 7th day of the week, from Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset, as Shabbat, the Day of Rest.  (Gen. 2:1-3; Ex. 31:14, 14, 17; Isaiah 56:6, 7)

Festivals-We keep all the biblical fests that are command by Yahweh, in the Torah. (Leviticus 23)

Spring Feast

1. Passover-Pesach- Yeshua Crucified

2. Feast of Unleavend Bread-Hag HaMatzah-Yeshua's Burial

3. Feast of Firstfruits-Ha Bikkurim-Yeshua's Resurrection

4. Feast of Weeks-Shavuot-Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) Given.

Fall Feast

Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah, prophetically fullfilled the spring feasts. He will prophetically fulfill the fall feasts at a future time.
